More Frequently Asked Questions

Do you see patients outside of Virginia or Washington, DC?

No, we are currently only seeing patients who live in and are in the state of Virginia and DC.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

For healthcare services without using your insurance or without having insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care or services upon request or when scheduling such services. This includes related costs like appointment visits, medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, or other fees.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service. You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

What is your cancellation policy?

Missed appointments will be charged a $50 fee.

Do you treat bipolar disease?

No, but we do screen for bipolar at many of our visits. If you are looking for treatment of bipolar, we can refer you to other mental health providers that do.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

We prescribe stimulants to some of our ADHD or weight loss patients. We do NOT prescribe any controlled substances such as benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax, Ativan) or opioids.

How does a virtual visit work?

Virtual visits are timely, convenient, and accessible, while also helping prevent the spread of illness.

Here, we prioritize your time—no rushed or impersonal appointments. We collaborate closely with you to achieve your wellness goals.

During your visit, we’ll thoroughly address your concerns, symptoms, and questions. We’ll review your medical history and previous treatments to create a personalized care plan through shared decision-making.

Tests & Bloodwork: If needed, lab work (blood tests, self-swabs, flu, or strep tests) can be sent to your local lab like LabCorp or Quest. Imaging studies such as X-rays or ultrasounds can be ordered at your nearby radiology center. You may use your insurance to cover these tests.

Medications: If prescription medication is recommended, it will be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy, with insurance to help cover costs.

While we cannot perform physical exams, pap smears, or procedures virtually, your local clinicians are here to assist with these in-office tests when necessary.
